I just love this picture.

There are flowers everywhere you go in London.

Part of Hyde Park/ Kensington Gardens.

The statue of Queen Victoria outside of Kensington Palace.
Haha...I creeped this little kid out (obviously by the look on that face) but I only wanted a picture of his dog...I miss our Pom at home.

Princess Diana's Memorial Garden. It was beautiful.

More flowers.

Me with James III outside of Kensington Palace.

I love this sign.

Where the aristocrats buy their second-hand clothing.

I just thought this would make for and interesting photo.

St. Mary Abbott's church.

This video is of this man playing a pretty cool beat on nothing but a couple of buckets and some pots and pans. He was outside of the Tube Station.

Hi everyone-

My apologies that this blog is a little later than usual. I have been busy uploading the tons of pictures I took today. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for taking the time to read this blog. I have had several people tell me they've started to become avid readers of "Tuesdays" and I just want each of you to know that I truly appreciate you all taking to the time to catch up with me on a daily basis via this blog. That means a lot to me. :) I have the greatest family and friends.

OK, let's get down to the nitty gritty. I went to my "Writing of Short Stories" class today, got a chance to air my views on the depreciation people have developed for other people. I won't start on that subject, but I was thinking that we should all try to have a conversation with someone where we use the word "you" more times then "I". See where that takes you. A good conversation is such a rarity anymore. It's a shame that everyone just talks AT one another rather then TO one another. Anyway...back to the task at hand. We got our first assignment and I have to create a short story; the assignment is pretty open-ended so it should be fun. The only problem is that EVERY word and phrase have to count because the length is so short. After class I retraced the tour we took with the tour guide yesterday evening. I went alone just to take everything in with nothing but my iPod and camera as my companions. There were some great photo ops that I wasn't going to miss out on. It was nice to spend time with my thoughts and my soul for a couple of hours today. Bradburry once said that "The pleasure of travel is the aesthetic of lostness" and that's kind of what I lived vicariously through today. After returning to the Atlantic House I ate dinner and got ready to go with a couple of the girls from the program (who coincidentally go to Texas Tech) to go watch "Phantom of the Opera" at Her Majesty's Theatre. The show was spectacular. the Phantom was tall, dark, and very handsome. He also had a voice to die for. The supporting roles' acting and singing was also superb. The talent these people posses is astounding. They all could do ballet with perfect accuracy while singing and acting! It was a great experience. After the show we fought our way through the crowds on The Tube (comparable to New York City's subway system, but more clean and less "dodgy" [as the British say]) and got back to the house where I have settled in for the night. I miss you all. Very much. I love each of you. Have a wonderful day tomorrow, and remember, try to actually LISTEN to something someone has to say. Soak it up completely before (if even) responding. You all mean the moon and the stars to me. Xxox. Good night.

Cheers,
Mattie
